This Month in Career and Technical Education:

Each month, we will be highlighting the fun and creative things students are doing in an effort to explore their career paths. For the month of August, we are focusing on Genius Hour!

Genius Hour is a program designed to encourage students to explore, research, design, and create objects and topics that interest them. During Genius Hour, we are adding a twist to the program by incorporating career interests to their lists of desired topics. Through surveys and questionnaires, research, and games, students will begin to discover careers that appeal to them.

Students will be placed into groups based on similar career choices and will work together to design a product that will benefit the needs of customers in their occupational fields. Team members will replicate the popular TV show, “Shark Tank”, and will then design, create, and present their products to their classmates, faculty, and staff members.
